On January 19th, the 21st Seoul Music Awards kicked off at the Seoul Olympic Stadium. Sponsored by Sports Seoul, High One Resort and supported by the Korean Commision, the prestigious event is the greatest celebration in the domestic music industry and a platform for recognition.

Super Junior will hold a solo concert “SUPER SHOW 4” at Tokyo Dome in Japan.
“SUPER JUNIOR WORLD TOUR ‘SUPER SHOW 4’” will be held at Tokyo Dome on May 12th and 13th and will draw audiences totaling 100,000 people.
Especially, although Super Junior has not made an official debut yet in Japan, Super Junior will hold a solo concert at Tokyo Dome without any promotion activities. Therefore, it proves Super Junior’s status as the King of global Korean-wave.
Moreover, since this will be Super Junior’s solo concert at Tokyo Dome following their successful concert in Osaka, it is expected to receive an intense interest from Japanese fans as well as local media.
Meanwhile, Super Junior will hold “SUPER SHOW 4″ at Taipei Arena in Taiwan from February 2nd to 5th and at Singapore Indoor Stadium from February 18th to 19th.

Super Junior’s 5th album ‘Mr. Simple’ and 4th album ‘BONAMANA’ ranked the 1st and 2nd on both album and music sections of ‘Korean Music Chart 2012 (http://tw.kkbox.com/event/2011kdma/rank.php?&channel=korea)’ which is announced by Taiwan’s music website KKBOX.
Especially, Super Junior ranked the 1st on KKBOX for 63 consecutive weeks with their 4th album title song ‘BONAMANA,’ marking the longest record in the history of KKBOX. Also, they took the 1st place with the 5th album title song ‘Mr. Simple’ for 21 consecutive weeks.
Moreover, Super Junior’s 5th album, ‘Mr. Simple,’ took the 1st place on ‘Korean/Japanese Album Section’ of annual album sales chart collected by Taiwan’s large record chain store, KWANGNAN, and proved Super Junior’s tremendous popularity in Taiwan once again.

Super Junior‘s Siwon and Donghae played the main roles in a Taiwan-Korea joint production of a drama, “Extravagant Challenge”. The drama is an adaptation of a popular Japanese manga “Skip Beat!”.
The popularity of Siwon and Donghae was apparent when they stopped by Taipei to promote the drama. With their packed schedules, the two managed to squeeze in an appearance at seven different shows, two promotional events, and one last meet-and-greet before they left for Korea. UDN reports that they were met with scores of fans at each venue.
Siwon and Donghae were also joined by cast members Ivy Chen and Bianca Bai! Despite being understandably worn out – what with only a few hours of sleep, Siwon and Donghae were said to have remained upbeat and energetic throughout the schedules, even taking photographs of the fans.
“Extravagant Challenge” is currently airing every Sunday.

Due to their massive popularity worldwide, Super Junior is often referred to as one of the leaders of the Hallyu Wave. However, leader Leeteuk has expressed his dislike towards the group being called ‘Hallyu stars’.
The Super Junior leader recently updated his Twitter page and wrote, “Super Junior album sales was first in Taiwan in 2011, ‘Mr Simple‘ remain no; 1 for 21 weeks while ‘Bonamana‘ for 63 weeks. I really want apologize people but we are not Hallyu this or that, we are just Super Junior”.
Fans praised Leeteuk for being humble and said, “So proud of him, he is among the best people and still don’t want that much praise”, ”You’re not Hallyu, you guys are the Super Junior”, ”He is so humble and down to earth, proud of you leader”.
In related news, Super Junior has announced that they will be taking their ‘Super Show 4‘ concert to the Tokyo Dome in Japan on the 12th and 13th of May.

There are 2 ways to get tickets for SBS Gayo Daejun. First is to apply for tickets from SBS, 2 tickets each for 300 people. Another way is to apply for tix from SME, 500 tickets in all.
At that time I did not get any tickets. So we decided to go queue up in the morning the next day. So I slept til 11am and when I got up, there was the news of SBS having already recorded SJ’s performance and there were only about 10 fans present as no one received any information. Neither the SBS or SM staff released any information. This is why when everyone was watching SJ’s “LIVE” on tv, it is so quiet. There is hardly any fanchants or sapphire blue ocean.
I was supposed to meet my friend at 4 but ended up at 2pm there was news that SBS wants to re-record. Thus we immediately grabbed our bags and left for the Gayo Dajun venue hoping that they will re-record. Over there, the other SM fans have already queues up. When queuing up we kept asking SM staff where should ELF queue at. The staff ignored us and just said “just wait here will tell you later” but they never told us where we should queue. They even chatted with our artists’ fans until all the other fans have finished queuing then they told us to queue at the back.
They already handed out fan support items like towels, balloons headbands to other fans except ELF.
After entering, according to SM’s allocation we have 40 spaces less than that fanbase with the most seats. (???) Eventually ELF were all separated and were allocated into the little holes with other fanbases.
I can only say that yesterday, the most pitiful fans were ELF and if there were anyone who are more pitiful than ELF it is SJ.

The mothers of Super Junior‘s Leeteuk, Sungmin, and Kyuhyun have revealed that they will be opening a cafe together!
On December 20th, Leeteuk wrote on his Twitter, “On the 22nd, my mother, Sungmin’s mother, and Kyuhyun’s mother will be opening a coffee shop. I was the only one left in the dark. They said it’s going to be in Apgujung.”
He continued, “Mom, you’ve been lonely for a while now, so I hope that you enjoy your time running it and have a lot of fun ^^ I’ll try to help as much as I can!”
